Con el objetivo de contribuir a un estado nutricional adecuado de las y los niños en sus primeros mil días de vida, el Sistema Estatal DIF, en coordinación con el Sistema DIF Municipal de Querétaro, entregó insumos alimentarios en la comunidad de San José Buenavista, en la delegación Santa Rosa Jáuregui.
Por medio del programa “Primeros 1000 Días de Vida” se fomenta la educación nutricional, la lactancia materna y buenas prácticas de cuidado, higiene y estimulación temprana para el correcto desarrollo de los infantes hasta los dos años de edad. Asimismo también reduce la inseguridad alimentaria en mujeres embarazadas o en periodo de lactancia.
La encargada del Área de Orientación Alimentaria del DIF Estatal, Lisset Flores Nieto, mencionó que este tipo de apoyos se entrega en los 18 municipios de la entidad de forma mensual para garantizar el crecimiento físico y cognitivo desde la etapa de la gestación.
“El programa de atención alimentaria en los Primeros 1000 Días de Vida se encarga de atender a mujeres embarazadas, en lactancia y niños de seis a 24 meses. Lo que requieren para ser beneficiarios es pertenecer a una zona de alta y muy alta marginación, tener algún tema de desnutrición o bajo peso”, indicó.
Cada mes se entrega un paquete alimentario con criterios de calidad nutricia adecuados a cada persona, incluye productos de los tres grupos de alimentos como lentejas, avena, carne, amaranto, verduras en salmuera y harina fortificada, entre otros.
Antes de la entrega de los insumos, la población vulnerable inscrita en este programa recibe una consulta por medio de una nutrióloga, quien los mide, los pesa, les brinda orientación alimentara y realiza la evaluación del estado nutricional de cada paciente. Actualmente este programa beneficia en el estado a mil 926 mujeres embarazadas y en lactancia, y 850 niñas y niños de seis a 24 meses de edad.
