El Sistema Estatal DIF Querétaro recibió de la Administración del Patrimonio de la Beneficencia Pública Nacional 19 procesadores de implantes cocleares, los cuales equivalen a una inversión superior a las cinco millones de pesos.
Un implante coclear es un dispositivo que transforma los sonidos del medio ambiente en energía eléctrica, capaz de actuar en el nervio auditivo de los pacientes con hipoacusia profunda, es decir permite que el usuario escuche.
Al evento acudieron el director Administrativo del SEDIF, Francisco Cubillas García, y el director de Rehabilitación y Asistencia Social del SEDIF, Francisco Reséndiz López, quienes destacaron la colaboración entre los dos órdenes de gobierno para mejorar las condiciones de las personas más vulnerables, sobre todo de la población con discapacidad auditiva.
Los apoyos serán destinados para la atención de niños, niñas, jóvenes, adultos y personas adultas mayores con problemas auditivos del estado de Querétaro, mediante la actualización de sus implantes cocleares con la finalidad de brindarles una integración completa a su vida estudiantil, laboral y familiar.
Además del SEDIF Querétaro, los apoyos fueron entregados también al Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación, Hospital General de México “Dr. Eduardo Liceaga”, Instituto Infantil de México “Federico Gómez” y la Unidad de la Beneficencia Pública de Servicios de Salud de Morelos.
