Querétaro, tercer lugar del Campeonato Nacional Premiere de Balonmano

Por segunda ocasión, Querétaro fue anfitrión del Campeonato Nacional Premiere de Balonmano, certamen que reunió a los 12 mejores equipos del país en las ramas femenil y varonil; entre ellos, el representativo queretano varonil, que conquistó el tercer sitio, compartiendo podio con las representaciones de Estado de México y Chihuahua.

En la categoría femenil, el título fue para Estado de México, el segundo puesto para Nuevo León y el tercero para Chihuahua. En la varonil, el primer lugar correspondió al Estado de México y el segundo para Chihuahua. También participaron las delegaciones de Baja California, Ciudad de México, Colima, Guerrero, Jalisco, Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), Nayarit, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tamaulipas y Zacatecas.

La Asociación Queretana de Balonmano, encabezada por su presidente Juan Carlos Maya, ha consolidado a la entidad como una de las principales potencias del país, formando deportistas que sobresalen a nivel internacional y que han integrado las distintas selecciones nacionales en diversas generaciones.

Algunos de los atletas queretanos que han sobresalido como seleccionados nacionales -y que algunos estuvieron presentes en esta edición del Campeonato Premiere- se encuentran: Juan Carlos Malagón Corso, Diego Íñiguez Bañuelos, Carlos Alejandro Maya Pedraza, Osvaldo Pascual Maya Pedraza, Ángeles Deydiline Tapia Medina, Juan Pablo Maya Pedraza, Benito Hernández Delgado e Ian Ehecatl Vargas García.

Este certamen, con más de dos décadas de trayectoria en México, actualmente es reconocido como la competencia más importante del balonmano nacional, y únicamente se asigna a asociaciones estatales que demuestran organización, infraestructura y el compromiso necesarios para realizar un torneo de esta dimensión.
